Blooming Crisis in Ilomar City?
Is it a time of reckoning for the Nachon population? And who stands behind the brutal murder of our beloved Crown Prince? For those who missed it, here is the recap of the still unfolding events in a truly historical week
This has been a tough week for all of Illomar. The murder of our beloved crown prince has left the entire country in a state of shock and mourning. And as to be expected from such a difficult situation, it has been an eventful week both politically and emotionally. His majesty The crown prince Theodore Armani of Ilomar was buried in the Iosta Cathedral on April 27th – a beautiful service, made complete with both a lovely song from the youngest prince Philippe and a touching speech from the heir to the post as high priest of Iosta, Alina Petrova. An appropriate goodbye to a pillar of culture, who will undoubtedly be missed.
Nitrius the Fifth, with the institution that is the Church of Iostanity, has publicly announced this to be the work of Tarron and his demon. He’s putting the blame on the Nachon Warlocks as the murderers of the Armani prince, but that is yet to be confirmed. The Godia Warrior Sector 45, responsible for the safety of the royals, are investigating the murder. There is still yet to be a official public announcement of a suspect, but General Decker of 45 has made the following statement. “We do have our eyes on some people and though we can't promise anything, we might soon have some names to hand out.” He also urges anyone with any insight or tips to come forward as soon as possible.
The Minister of Security, Morgan Sutton, has not yet made a public appearance but on his Social Media profiles he puts the blame on the terrorist organization known as the EFA. The ministry of security is also looking into a more offensive strategy, as their prior defense has so far proved insufficient in the face of these current developments. He makes a promise to break the rebelling group once and for all, before they strike again. The actual details of the strategy and resources at their disposal are yet to be revealed.
On the subject of the murder, President Leland Umbra has not publicly blamed anyone nor made a statement on the murder. He did, however, make a speech this Saturday in full support of both the church and The Godia Warriors investigating the murder. Furthermore, to any struggling IUC student, he had this to say:
“We will not let this horrible death scare us into hiding. It is awful that this should happen so close to the Ilomar University Campus – a place of learning, opportunities and growth. It is our utmost important priority that this should not affect the students' life, once lessons begin again. Therapists and counselors are available for any student needing to talk about the incident.”
On an international plan, the murder has made its waves as well. Our neighboring countries are reporting a steep increase in hate crimes against Nachon citizens. In Yidsia it is said to have doubled – and here in Ilomar, there are reports of attacks on people who are simply suspected of being Nachon. This had been strongly condemned by president Umbram who urged faith in the work of our Godia Warriors to bring about justice. We need to keep our trust in each other, even during these difficult times of unrest.
As it stands, the fate of the Nachon remains controversial. In most major cities there have been demonstrations against the mercy shown to the Nachon population, demanding their immediate execution, arguing that their continued existence has allowed Tarron the right to roam. This, however, has been met with much controversy from the groups sympathetic with the Nachon plight. The subject of targeting people as a result of their illness speaks to a mentality akin to genocide and they instead advocate for the use of power-repressing medication and Zeal-technology be used instead.
No matter your stance, this is shaping up to be a volatile and difficult time we’re heading in. The killer is still on the loose – and it is easy to find yourself both unsure and afraid of what the future may hold for us all. We at the Cirrane Press Society urge all to have faith within the system and to not use this opportunity to propel more unease into the population. We hope that the guilty party will be found soon and that we may all soon return to the status quo of safety within our country. Our thoughts are with the royal family during their time of grieving and we pray that the Godia will soon prosper in their search for culprit.
